Poinsettia

My poinsettia is looking good considering its completely neglected all year and is a couple of years old now

Happy Christmas 2024

Hi folks, sorry for the silence. I’ve been keeping my socials updated more than my blog recently as it’s often easier to post pictures without thinking what to say to go along side them. I’ve also noticed the more words I write here the less views the posts get. Anyway, except for much leaf collecting still to be done the garden is pretty clear and ready for winter. I even noticed a Delphinium shooting up out of the ground – I’m guessing the weather has been confusing matters slightly. It’s been a pretty mild start to winter albeit rather wet at times.

I’ve decorated our artificial trees, this is my favourite one with more pretty decorations. The other is much smaller and has the old family favourites.

Thank for your support, views, likes and comments. I hope you have an enjoyable and peaceful Christmas and happy New Year. I endeavour to keep this updated more next year

RHS Glow at RHS Bridgewater Garden, Salford

Last night my friend and I went to the RHS garden in Salford for their Christmas light trail. Fortunately it wasn’t actually raining although a bit cold. I thought it was very well done and very pretty. I have been a couple of times before so recognised some of the different gardens even in the dark. Here are a few of my pictures

Happy Christmas 2023

Apologies once again for the lack of posts. Those who’ve followed me for a while will probably know by now that I don’t garden in the cold weather because as much as there’s always something to do it doesn’t really agree with me and I take far too long to warm up. I do really miss being outside in the winter but it’s also been so wet here that the flower beds are slightly under water! I’m hoping everything survives and doesn’t get washed away. It’s happened before. Anyway just dropping in really to thank my followers for following me and to wish you a happy peaceful Christmas. Here is my little tree, not real sadly! We have some real ones in pots in the garden in various states of decay

Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas to my followers! Thanks for the support this year

Luminate light trail at Walton Hall

I’ve never been to a light trail before as I don’t like the cold and can’t really walk slowly, stand around for long periods due to my health, however, I decided I wanted to go to one this year to get me in the Christmas spirit as I’ve been a bit bah humbug. It was especially cold and we’ve had early snow which just made it more magical. So here are my pictures.

Poinsettia

This poinsettia has been very much neglected as I’m not very good with houseplants and yet here it is with the desired red leaves at the correct time of year. This somewhat amuses me as the gardeners would say I need to put it in a darkened place, refuse it water and eventually it’ll produce the red leaves and yet having done none of this (it sits on the windowsill all year) round it’s happily performed for me.

Gardening Christmas presents 2021

My gardening Christmas presents this year. A Christmas rose plant and new wooden wheelbarrow to plant to replaces my broken one. Daddy made it from a kit for me and painted it so I just need to get some plants and get it planted up

Happy Christmas 2021

Wishing all my friends and followers a lovely peaceful, joyful Christmas and a better 2022! Thank you for your comments, likes and interactions with me this year. Xx

Happy Christmas from me!

Just dropping in to wish my followers and friends a happy Christmas. Sorry this isn’t a real tree. We have two outside in pots but they are too heavy to bring in!
