My passion in life is gardening and specifically growing flowers from seed

Aquilegia flowering

These have a bit of a take over mission in my garden if allowed as they spread so easily but at the moment look so pretty

Seeds sowing 2022

I sowed the first row of seeds last Monday and so far only have 8/15 of the Tithonia showing their heads.

I’ve just sown the bottom row today. The Ammi and Cerinthe are new to me but good for bees and wildlife so I thought I’d give them a try

Pasqueflowers

I’d actually forgotten that I’d planted a red one as well as the white and purple varieties

Apple Blossom

I wish I could tell you it smells nice but my sense of smell has evaded me as I currently have COVID- I hope it returns soon as I love growing scented plants in the garden and I would like to smell them!

Magnolias

I’m cheating again slightly here as the second picture isn’t actually of a tree in my garden but is so pretty I could t resist including it here

First camellia of the year in my garden 2022

I’m quite impatient in wanting to know if some plants have survived or not and so far it’s looking quite good.

First tulips of 2022 in my garden

Golden Appledoorm

The only daffodils to flower in my garden this year

These tête-à-têtes are the only faithful daffodils to flower this year. A few others have come up but not started necessarily with buds but these have been in the trough for years and faithfully return every year. They really brighten up the garden.

Storm Franklin

Hellebore flowering
The aftermath of the storm, a new pond. This often gets flooded and consequently I don’t know what to plant in this section

Rose ‘summer song’

Smelling and looking beautiful in my garden at the moment. I’ve had 4 new roses over the past 2 years including this one and I think it’s been a good year for them, they and the others mores established ones have flowered very well this year and are still going
