The first tulips to flower in my garden this year, they are doubled and apparently scented!

Spring 2025

This is definitely my favourite season of the year although I would like it a bit warmer. I hate the cold but also miss being outside in the winter so once the garden starts to come alive again I’m always so pleased. There’s lots in flower at the moment and I’ve just discovered the geraniums I thought I’d lost over winter do seem to be alive.

Spring is coming…

Slowly I think but the bulbs are starting to come up and I’m noticing already what’s missing. That’ll be most of my snowdrops, probably washed away in extreme rain we’ve had lately. Anyway just a couple of pictures of what is flowering at the moment – lots of crocus and one lonely clump of snowdrops

Spring 2024 in my garden

I start once again with an apology for the radio silence. To be honest I’ve done very little proper gardening until this week due to my availability and weather not matching up well.

I did finally get my sweetpeas planted out this week and a few other things from the greenhouse. I’ve also done a lot of weeding and tidying. I didn’t know I had so many weeds til I started looking! I’ve also redone my hanging basket. I even managed to kill the ivy last season by lack of watering (I think). I have, however, taken lots of pictures of the garden so I’ll share a few here.

March 2024

Apologies once again for the silence.

I’ve actually been able to get into the garden and do things the last few days. It’s been so wet here and damp. The grass is more moss than grass and rather sponge like to walk on.

I sowed my sweetpea seeds a couple of weeks back in the greenhouse and a few have appeared.

I have done yet more tidying up, it never seems to end and some grass edge cutting and weeding.

We have a few things flowering at the moment. Hellebores, forsythia, daffodils and Camellias. I’ve included crocus too which are so pretty. Pictures below

Snowdrops already

It seems a little early but the first of my snowdrops are flowering in my garden today

RHS Bridgewater, Salford visit April 2023

Spring is my favourite season and I love seeing the plants and beautiful bulbs appearing so I decided to visit this garden again to see what was flowering there. If I hadn’t already booked tickets I’m not sure I would have gone today as it was so cold and windy but anyway I wrapped up warm and off I went. Some of the daffodils had already finished but there were lots of tulips and other pretty things to be seen. Here are some of my pictures

April 2023

I can’t believe it’s April already although I have to say I love the lighter evenings and driving home in the light even when I finish late and I love the sense of expectancy in the garden and seeing new things flowering every day. I have done a little weeding and some seed sowing but have lots more work to be done in the coming days. For now I leave you with pictures of what’s currently looking good in my garden
