Wordless Wednesday – giant Japanese anemones

Not much to add to this picture except to say we’ve had this plant years and I never water it and yet it flowers away every year. A bit of a thug I guess but a good dependable cottage garden plant. I wish I had some more dependable plants that would just perform with no fuss!
For anyone following me for a while you will know that I sowed some wildflower seeds in a trough at the beginning of the season (blog can be found here: https://wendyswonderlandgarden.wordpress.com/2020/04/26/wildflower-seed-experiment/ ) and I wanted to give you an update. I haven’t seen any bees on them but they are growing well and are pretty. Here are the pictures

Lots of plants flowering at the moment, in fact properly something different starts each day. The soil seems dry again even after so much rain but at least the water butts are full! I went out weeding yesterday and was excited to find some more spaces in the garden which means o can buy more plants. Still only online for me! Anyway here’s some pictures of what’s currently flowering

My roses have been looking very beautiful up until now. However, we are desperate for rain so I won’t complain about it!
