Tulips
by Wendy Syddall
These are the tulips I have planted this year in pots/troughs with wallflowers that I grew from seed and pansies not grown from seed.
I like to try different tulips each year and like them in pots because in the ground apart from the fact they are likely to rot with clay soil and a lot of rain it means I don’t end up digging up them up when I’ve forgotten where they are.

Here is a finished trough
That Muvota tulip looks really exotic – let me know how it gets on. Our soil here is not good for bulbs – too dry I think (I prefer bulbs “in the ground” as opposed to pots though then one can forget them and leave them to get on with it!). Saying that I have some lovely big white ones on the end of my drive that come up each year – though its apity they are white as they don’t show up too much, albeit passers by always admire them.
Raining again, so not gardening weather and definitely not BBQ weather (says I). We have however just come back from a bike ride – luckily just got back and put the bike away and it poured down – the gods were on ourside for once.
Take care, Wendy – have a good week ahead.
All love
Lorraine
